How We Got Here
The story of LearnLab
We spent years working in and around New Zealand workplaces: in H&S consulting, learning and development, and on the tools ourselves. And the same problems kept showing up everywhere we went.
Businesses were buying eLearning from overseas platforms and wondering why their teams weren’t finishing it. Managers were handing out compliance certificates while incidents kept happening. Workers from Māori, Pasifika, and migrant backgrounds were sitting through training that felt like it was made for someone else entirely.
So we built LearnLab. A training company that starts with the workplace, not the module library. That asks what’s actually happening on the floor, not what the template says to cover. That builds learning for Aotearoa’s real workforce, in language they understand, using scenarios they recognise.
We’re not a massive corporate platform with thousands of generic modules. We’re a focused team who knows New Zealand workplaces, knows the legislation, and knows what it takes to get real behaviour change, not just completion certificates.
The problem wasn’t that people didn’t want to learn. The problem was that the training wasn’t built for them.
